Santa Monica Productions was also contacted in March by Magic Flight Films from Berlin
They had a film project for a thriller called “Die Informatin” , the script required locations to double for Turkey and Bulgaria.
Scouting began in early April, and with only two days to shoot all the necessary scenes it was imperative that the locations (although very different) were close to each other and the unit base in San Jose Almeria in order to reduce travel time to set.
The tech-recce with Director, DOP and Producer was in the last week of April, locations were considered, the best were approved and shooting dates were set for the beginning of June.
Most of the crew and actors arrived the day before shooting was to commence, once more Almeria was ideal for locations, action vehicles and local bi-lingual crew.
Shooting commenced early on day one with some special effects and gunfire scenes. The day sped by and by mid afternoon thanks to some great scheduling we were wrapped and on our way back to the hotel.
Day two saw us out in the desert near one of the sets from the last Ridley Scott film, by ten o clock it was nearly forty degrees and rising.
Shooting went fast and the Spanish and foreign crew worked well together. Art department had done a great job with the set building and vehicles.
Once more we wrapped on schedule (what a pleasure!) equipment was packed up for shipping back to Munich and Malaga. Crew ferried back to base and a well-earned drink for their hard work.
Thanks very much guys, it was a real pleasure!
Hope to see you all soon.
